Roots and Kraluz

I played at Roots Coffeehouse in North Richland Hills on October 23rd and I just wanted to thank everyone who stopped by to catch the show. Big thanks to Thad for bringing his whole family out and to Carol Drummond for bringing her whole extended family, we all had a great time!!
I’m also happy to report that my pre-ordering of the SellaBand album at the live shows is going well. If you’d like to see who has been participating in this new program, you can check the FAM (Fans of Aryn Michelle) believer profile here: sellaband.com/believer/fam contact me if you’d like more information on how to make your own personal believer profile (its really easy!)
I also wanted to take a moment to talk about a wonderful new friend and fan that I have recently met and tell you about the fabulous jewelry her mother makes. I met Tajana while playing at the Coppell Farmer’s Market and she was so friendly and helpful and has ever since been sending me great ideas for people to contact and places that I might be able to play around DFW. Tajana also shared with me that she is originally from Croatia and her mother, Dada, still lives there and makes beautiful handmade jewelry that she sells online. Tajana asked if I’d be willing to be their “customer of the month” to be featured on their website and generously donated me a necklace that I can wear when I perform. I had the opportunity to wear my necklace when I performed at Roots, and so I wanted to tell you a little bit about the piece to thank Tajana and her mother for such a beautiful gift, and also share with you some pictures and a link to Dada’s website if you’d like to check it out.

The necklace is in a traditional Croatian weave called “Kraluz” and is made out of Czech beads with moonstone and crystals. It has two emeralds and a vermeil clasp. If you’d like more info on her jewelry, visit the website (dadascandy.com) or contact: dada@dadascandy.com

Feeling hot hot hot!

Just wanted to report in about a successful weekend and let you know about some gigs and things to come!
I had a meeting this weekend where I got the chance to meet up with a very talented group of songwriters that have chapters all over the state of Texas. I have signed up to be a member of this organization and hopefully it will lead to some exciting performance opportunities in the future! I am also really excited about this group because it is going to allow me more collaborating and networking opportunities with more songwriters, performers, producers and music professionals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Now, for the hot hot hot part…After the great meeting in Arlington on Saturday morning, I had so scurry off to a gig in Fort Worth playing at a benefit carnival for the St. George school. The morning started out being a bit chilly, so my band and I showed up wearing long pants, layers, boots, and all articles of clothing required for playing at a chilly outdoor venue. However, by the time we started playing at 1PM the sun was blazing and we weren’t getting much of a breeze because of a metal building near us that was not only blocking the breeze but reflecting the sun right on us and cooking us slowly!! My poor band members nearly all sweated to death and we all get our fair share of some killer sunburns (you MUST check out my unique sunburn below, notice the chunky necklace pattern! haha!) However, in the end, we got to help provide some entertainment for a great cause, and we were all better after we got some ice cream afterwards
Gigs to look out for coming up soon!!! (Check my gig calender for details)
Fort Worth peoples: playing at Roots Coffeehouse in North Richland Hills Friday Oct 23rd 8-10PM
Irving peoples: playing at Java Me Up in Irving on Friday October 30th 8-10PM
Dallas peoples: playing at The Prophet Bar on Friday November 13th from 8:30-9PM (opening spot, cover at this venue!)
Arlington/Denton peoples: more details coming soon about a show in Denton on November 9th and playing a Primo Coffee and Tea in Arlington on Friday November 20th 8-10PM!
a wonderful evening, a brisk morning!

Just wanted to report that I had two very successful gigs this weekend and I was blessed to meet many new people and introduce them to my music.
On Friday night my good friend Karen Bass, with the help of a fantastic group of ladies, hosted a dinner and concert for me at her home. This will be the first in a series of “house concerts” I hope to do throughout this next year. We discovered that the house concerts are a great way to enjoy some tasty food, get to meet new people and get to enjoy music in an intimate and personal setting. I was so grateful for the opportunity to share with this group of people many of the stories behind my songs. I am currently setting dates for my next house concerts. If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (or anticipate traveling through the area) please let me know if you’d like to be invited to a house concert, and if so, when you are planning on being in town.
After a wonderful evening of good company (and great food!) at the house concert, I had to wake up early the next day (Saturday) and face the brisk October weather while I played for a couple of hours at the local farmer’s market. I love playing at the market because it gives me the chance to meet alot of new people that live in my community and share my music with them. It was a very cold day for Texas in October (by the end of my set, I couldn’t feel my fingers!) but I still had a great time. I made a new fan, Trinity (picture below) that sat through my whole two hour performance, she is so sweet!
Biggest gig coming up next month will be playing at The Prophet Bar in Dallas on November 13th, please mark your calenders!
